Empowering Financial Literacy
Delivering adaptable curricula for teacher candidates, students, and veterans to enhance financial capability in communities.
Misson Statement
Financial literacy should be free, approachable, and practical, a life skill that anyone can learn and anyone can teach. Too often, it is hidden behind complex jargon, heavy mathematics, or costly programs. LearnTheMoney exists to change that. All resources here are completely free, and always will be free, because everyone, no matter their background, deserves the chance to build a better life
From Vision to Leadership
To bring this mission to life, LearnTheMoney is led by Alimursal (Ali) Ibrahimov, a financial analyst and educator whose work bridges finance, education, and national impact.
About Alimursal (Ali) Ibrahimov
Ali Ibrahimov is a Financial Analyst II at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, where he oversees budget strategy and financial reporting for multiple academic divisions. He is pursuing a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction (CILS) with a specialization in Instructional Design and Educational Technology, with research focused on behavioral finance and behavioral learning, specifically how individuals and educators can better understand, teach, and adopt financial literacy skills in real-world contexts. Alongside his doctoral studies, he is completing a Master of Liberal Arts (ALM) in Finance at Harvard University.
Ali’s work has gained national and international recognition. In 2025, he was one of only twenty scholars worldwide invited to the Stanford Financial Literacy & Personal Finance Research Boot Camp, where he presented research on teacher turnover and financial education. He is also the speaker of a TEDx Talk, “The Magic Can Change Your Life,” which highlights the power of financial literacy to break cycles of poverty and build generational wealth.
Through LearnTheMoney, Ali has designed and implemented programs including a semester-long TEKS-aligned personal finance course for teacher candidates, a six-week Financial Literacy Bootcamp for adults, veterans, and community partnerships with schools, universities, and nonprofits. His initiatives emphasize measurable outcomes, using simulations, digital tools, and data-driven assessments to ensure participants gain both confidence and competence with money.
Ali’s mission is grounded in the belief that financial literacy is a matter of national interest. By making financial education accessible and free for all, he is committed to empowering individuals and families across the United States to make informed financial decisions that strengthen economic stability, workforce readiness, and long-term prosperity.
